Consulting

My consulting activities in the field of aquatic ecology and hydrobiological resources are mainly aimed at supporting governmental and private institutions in their management tasks and thus contribute to their institutional strengthening or to the achievement of their objectives. This support is provided through consultancy and monitoring. Examples of this type of activity include:

1. Consulting activities to the Fondo de Agua en Ecuador's capital, Quito, on the effect of restoration practices in the wetland experimental area in the Antisana volcano Reserve on the ecology of bryophytes.

2.  Water quality assessments based on hydrochemical, and hydrobiological analyses as part of consultancy activities, first as part of the National Unit for Water Quality in Venezuela, and then as an independent consultant.

3. Biodiversity assessments for plankton (phyto- and zooplankton), benthos (periphyton, aquatic macroinvertebrates and meiofauna) in Andean rivers, and Amazon and Orinoco Basin aquatic ecosystems.

4. Technical guidance to the Venezuelan Socialist Fisheries Institute (INSOPESCA) in the area of inland fisheries resources for the reformulation of the regulations for inland fisheries in the Orinoco.

5. Advising the Venezuelan Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism and Water (MINEA) through the organization and implementation of "Workshops for the Collective Construction of Ecosocialism with Workers of Hydrological Companies", including the design of the content of the workshops, the facilitation of the introductory workshop, the co-facilitation of three regional workshops, and the revision of the document resulting from the process: "Bases for the Collective Construction of the National Strategy for the Ecosocialist Management of Water and its Participatory Action Plan".
